2.18 Happy

“Finally you guys realized how perfect you are together.”

Enzo rolled his eyes, but I could see he was happy for me. Phil was on his way over here and I’d just filled Enzo in on what had been going on.

“I’m happy for you, sis. It was about time.”

“Thanks, Enz.” I smiled. “So what are your plans for today?”

“Hanging out with friends.”

I shot him a questioning look. As far as I knew, Enzo had been keeping his distance from those older guys. “Not those friends,” he said reassuringly. “Kevin and David. You know, those guys that were in my math class. We’re gonna get the new game that just came out and then head over to Kevin’s to play it.”

I sighed, relieved. “I’m glad you’re back to being a dork again, Enz.” He grinned. “I thought you would be.”

 

A while later, I was sitting on the bench in front of our house with Phil. He was telling me about his break up with Angela, and it sounded pretty damn awful.

“She did not call you that!”

He nodded. “She did. I mean, I can’t say I didn’t deserve it at all. But still.” He shrugged. “Oh well. At least that’s over with. I can’t believe I was with her for three months.”

 

I rolled my eyes. “Tell me about it. And you weren’t even sleeping with her.”

I liked teasing him about that fact, but of course, a huge part of me was super relieved. Maybe that could be something that we could share for the first time – together.

“Ha ha. Very funny.”

“I’m sorry, I won’t keep making fun of you.” I kissed him shortly on the cheek, but he turned to me, grabbing my face. “I expected a bit more of an apology than just a little peck,” he grinned.

 

 

And there we sat, in the warm afternoon sun, cuddled together on a bench. In that moment, I was perfectly happy.

Yay for #Phallie! I know most of you guys were rooting for them (and so was I!) so I’m super excited that they are now officially a couple!

With this chapter, the teenage part of Generation 2 is finally at an end. There will be a Family Album tomorrow, as a bit of a bridge for the time gap, and then young adult-chapters will resume shortly after that.
